Job summary

Worley is seeking a Lead/Principal Power Systems Engineer for ANZ to lead complex power system studies, mentor engineers and deliver major utility, renewable and energy transition projects. This role blends technical leadership with client engagement in a hybrid Auckland-based environment.

You will apply deep knowledge of Australian and New Zealand power networks, oversee grid connection programs and contribute to Worley’s capability development across ANZ, while guiding high-performing teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; postgraduate qualifications advantageous.
• Extensive experience in power systems engineering across utilities, consulting, renewables or heavy industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and delivering complex projects from concept to commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for complex power system studies (load flow, fault level, stability, EMT, harmonic, protection).
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams ensuring high-quality technical outcomes and client satisfaction.
• Act as SME for transmission, distribution and generation projects across ANZ.
• Lead grid connection strategies and compliance assessments for renewables and energy storage.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering technical excellence in the ANZ Power team.
• Support business development, proposals and client engagement.
• Represent Worley in industry forums and client workshops as a technical leader.
