Job summary

Worley is seeking a Lead / Principal Power Systems Engineer to join our ANZ Power team. You will provide technical leadership across major utility, transmission, renewable energy, and energy transition projects in Australia and New Zealand.

You will mentor engineers, lead grid connection studies, and engage with clients to deliver high-quality outcomes across the full project lifecycle with a focus on sustainable energy solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; postgraduate qualifications advantageous.
• Extensive experience in power systems engineering within utilities, consulting, renewables or heavy industry.
• Experience leading technical teams and delivering complex power system projects from concept through to commissioning.
• Advanced expertise in power system analysis and modelling tools (PowerFactory, PSS/E, PSCAD).
• Strong understanding of NZ/Australia power networks and grid connection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for complex power system studies (load flow, fault levels, transient stability, EMT, harmonic, protection).
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality technical outcomes on time and within budget.
• Act as SME for transmission, distribution and generation projects in ANZ.
• Lead grid connection strategies, registration activities and compliance assessments for renewables and energy projects.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and contribute to business development and client engagement.
