Job summary

Stantec in New Zealand is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer (Power) to join our graduate development programme across multiple NZ locations. You will work with experienced engineers on electrical projects, gaining hands‑on experience across the project lifecycle and developing technical, analytical and professional skills.

This 2‑year program supports Engineering NZ accreditation and offers mentoring, flexible hours and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar, with expected completion before commencing employment (approx Jan–Feb 2027).
• Potential driving licence preferred; a full clean licence is advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Assist with investigation, analysis and design of electrical engineering systems and components.
• Perform engineering calculations using industry-standard software.
• Support preparation of electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, reports and presentations.
• Assist with developing electrical designs in accordance with codes, standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions.
• Support construction-phase activities, including reviewing contractor submissions and answering technical queries.
• Undertake site visits and field work to gain practical project experience.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and expand professional network.
