Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer (Power) in New Zealand. You will work under experienced engineers on electrical design and delivery across projects, gaining hands-on experience throughout the project lifecycle and developing technical, analytical, and professional skills.

This 2-year, Engineering NZ Accredited graduate development programme offers exposure to multiple locations including Christchurch, with flexible work options and strong mentorship for accreditation and career

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with expected completion before commencement of employment (Jan–Feb 2027)
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities required
Excellent communication and teamwork skills essential

Responsibilities

Assist with investigation, analysis, and design of electrical systems and components
Perform engineering calculations using industry-standard software
Support preparation of electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, reports, and presentations
Assist with developing electrical designs in line with codes and best practices
Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions
Support construction-phase activities: review submissions, respond to queries, and assist with clarifications
Undertake site visits and field work to gain practical experience
Contribute to a positive team culture and professional network
