Job summary

Stantec in New Zealand is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our design and delivery teams across multiple locations, including Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton, Dunedin and Wellington.

You'll work alongside experienced engineers on electrical projects, gaining hands-on experience through the full project lifecycle while developing technical and professional skills in a supportive graduate development environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar with expected completion before starting employment (Jan–Feb 2027).
• Preferably have a full clean current driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with investigation, analysis, and design of electrical engineering systems and components.
• Perform engineering calculations using industry-standard software.
• Support the preparation of electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, reports, and presentations.
• Assist with developing electrical designs in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
• Support construction‑phase activities, including reviewing contractor submissions, responding to technical queries, and assisting with design clarifications
• Undertake site visits and field work to gain practical project experience
• Contribute to a positive team culture while continuing to build your technical expertise and professional network
