Job summary

UP International College in Auckland CBD is seeking an International Student Compliance & Assurance Analyst to join our team. The role provides oversight across our New Zealand providers, reviewing compliance processes, data and internal controls.

You will conduct audits, test controls, analyse student data and prepare evidence-based reports for leadership while collaborating with provider teams to strengthen processes and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in data analytics, business, compliance, information systems, education or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience in compliance, audit, risk, data analysis, student administration or another regulated environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills, with confidence working with and analysing large datasets
• The ability to identify discrepancies, trends and potential risks within data and processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present findings
• Sound judgement and confidence to question information and escalation concerns appropriately
• A collaborative and organised approach, with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships while maintaining confidentiality
• Experience with Power BI, data visualisation, automation or AI tools, CRM/student management systems, international education, quality assurance or the New Zealand tertiary education sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Knowledge of international student or immigration compliance would also be beneficial; however, Licensed Immigration Adviser (LIA) status is not required.

Responsibilities

• Conducting scheduled and risk-based compliance audits, reviews and data checks
• Reviewing international enrolment, visa, attendance and compliance documentation
• Testing processes and controls against internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Analysing student data to identify discrepancies, trends and emerging compliance risks
• Preparing clear, evidence-based compliance and assurance reports for leadership
• Tracking audit findings and corrective actions, ensuring issues are appropriately addressed
• Supporting Code of Practice self-reviews and internal and external audit activities
• Partnering with provider teams to strengthen processes, data quality and audit readiness
