Job summary

MHM Automation in Hastings is seeking a Global Sales Support - Technical Sales Engineer to join the Materials Handling team. You will work with Sales, Estimating, Engineering, Project Management and Operations to develop technical solutions and proposals for worldwide customers.

Reporting to the Manager - Global Sales Support, you will help ensure solutions are technically sound, commercially competitive, and aligned with customer requirements, while contributing to costing, equipment selection

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, automation, or industrial environments.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to develop technical solutions and specifications.
• Good communication with customers and internal teams.
• Experience using 3D CAD and Microsoft Office applications.

Global Sales Support - Technical Sales Engineer

The Role:

We are seeking a Global Sales Support - Technical Sales Engineer to join our Hastings-based Materials Handling team.

Reporting to the Manager - Global Sales Support, this role supports our global sales team by developing technical solutions, specifications, and proposal concepts for customers around the world. Working closely with Sales, Estimating, Engineering, Project Management and Operations, you will help ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, commercially competitive, and aligned with customer requirements.

You will contribute to solution development, costing support, equipment selection, system performance analysis, and product development initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys combining technical expertise with customer engagement and commercial thinking.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A Mechanical Engineering degree or relevant tertiary qualification.
• Experience in an engineering, manufacturing, automation, or industrial environment
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience developing technical solutions, specifications, or engineered products.
• The ability to communicate confidently with customers and internal stakeholders
• Experience using 3D CAD software and Microsoft Office applications.
• A customer-focused mindset with strong commercial awareness.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across team
