Job summary

Armatec Environmental, a NZ-based provider of air pollution control systems, seeks a Sales & Design Engineer to join our practical, client-focused engineering team. You will engage with clients from initial enquiry through design, fabrication, commissioning and hand-over, delivering value and innovative solutions.

The role offers flexibility to be based in Auckland or New Plymouth with work-from-home options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering Degree (or equivalent) in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years’ experience working in an Engineering field with understanding of Process Engineering principles.
• Previous experience in technical/engineering sales, or a similar customer-focused role is preferred.
• Be highly organised, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Hold a valid NZ Driver’s License and be comfortable with hands-on project work.

Responsibilities

• Providing rapid initial response to customers’ incoming sales enquiries.
• Following initial response, ensuring new enquiries are appropriately assigned to other team members.
• Assisting in maintaining up-to-date and accurate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) data.
• Maintaining positive, proactive, and regular communication with customers.

About the Sales & Design Engineer role:

We have clients across Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia and even further afield and you will work on varied and interesting projects within a team of dedicated engineers that delivers value and have fun in the process.

We are open to this role being Auckland based with work from home flexibility or New Plymouth based working from Armatec’s main Factory and Office.

Key duties include:

• Providing rapid initial response to customers’ incoming sales enquiries

• Assisting in maintaining up to date and accurate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) data
• Maintaining positive, proactive, and regular communication with customers

What you will need to bring with you:

• A Bachelor of Engineering Degree (or equivalent) in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant qualification
• 2+ years’ experience working in an Engineering field coupled with a sound understanding of Process Engineering principles
• Previous experience in technical/engineering sales, or a similar customer-focused role is preferred, along with the ability to understand client requirements and develop tailored solutions
• Be highly organised, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• An excellent phone manner and the capability of building strong working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers
• Enjoy working both individually and collaboratively in a team environment
• Enjoy physically getting hands on with projects and ideally have some mechanical aptitude and experience
• Hold a valid NZ Driver’s License
