Job summary

Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga in Hawke’s Bay is seeking a General Practitioner to join our kaupapa Māori health and social services team on a 0.8 FTE basis (32 hours per week).

You will work within Hauora Heretaunga, delivering patient-centred primary care in a high-needs clinic, with supportive leadership and a collaborative, integrated team approach.

Qualifications

• Registered GP with NZ Medical Council or eligible for registration.
• Experience in primary care and patient-centred approach.

Responsibilities

We have been supporting our whānau me hapori to achieve their aspirations and general wellbeing for more than 40 years. We are one of NZ's largest kaupapa Māori health and social services organisations.

About us:

Hauora Heretaunga is a Bronze Cornerstone Accredited Teaching practice that aims to deliver quality, evidence-based primary care services to our population of almost 7000 patients using the Health Care Homes framework. We are a high-needs clinic, committed to improving equity in our Māori and Pacifica populations . We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to delivering holistic care with an integrated team approach to wrap around care.

Our practice is open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm. We are looking for GPs to work 0.8 FTE [32 hours] week.
Or at least a minimum of 0.5 FTE [20 hours] per week.

Our Teams:

As part of our integrated model of care, you will work with team made up of Clinical and Non-Clinical staff. Reporting to the GP - Clinical Lead, you will be supported by our experienced Hauora Leadership team and a committed, experienced, professional primary care practice workforce of Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Prescribers, Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Administrator.

Being part of the wider Taiwhenua health and services organisation, we also have access to the many services delivered on site including Oranga Niho (Dental), Tamariki Ora, School-based Nursing Teams, Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol and Housing. Our Hauora service is also supported by our professional corporate teams of Quality and Risk, Health and Safety, Support Services, HR, IT, Finance, Marketing and Communications.
