Ngāti Porou Oranga invites a General Practitioner to join our whānau-centred primary care team on the East Coast. You will provide comprehensive medical care across all ages within a kaupapa Māori framework, promoting equitable health outcomes and high professional standards.

Key responsibilities include diagnosis, management, preventative care, and strong clinical governance. Eligible for NZ APC and RNZCGP Fellowship; full or part-time options available.

Qualifications

• Vocational registration and Fellowship with the Royal NZ College of General Practitioners (or working towards)
• Current APC and eligibility to practise in Aotearoa New Zealand
• Strong clinical judgement and commitment to quality care

Responsibilities

Salary Base: $220,000– $235,000 per year (DOE)

Subject: General Practitioner providing comprehensiveprimary medical care in a culturally responsive, whānau-centred setting.

About the role

The General Practitioner is responsible for providing high-quality, comprehensive, and culturally responsive primary medical care to individuals and whānau accessing NPO Primary Care Services. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the role delivers evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of acute, chronic and preventative healthcare needs while promoting equitable health outcomes and whānau-centred models of care. The General Practitioner contributes to integrated primary healthcare services, supports continuity of care across the wider health system, participates in clinical governance and quality improvement activities, and maintains the highest standards of professional and ethical medical practice. The role is committed to advancing kaupapa Māori approaches to health care delivery and improving health outcomes for Māori and all communities served by NPO.
