Job summary

Swanson Medical Centre in Waitakere, near Auckland, seeks a General Practice Registered Nurse (0.6 FTE) to join our friendly team. You will deliver high-quality primary care, preventive care, and chronic disease management within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

The role requires NZ Registered Nurse status with APC, eligibility to work in NZ, and prior primary care experience. Weekdays only, 8am–6pm, no weekends, with on-site parking and supportive admin systems.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our energetic, friendly nursing team on a permanent part-time basis (0.6 FTE / approx. 24 hours, including a Friday). You’ll be a key member of our multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality primary care and helping patients stay well through prevention, early intervention, and long-term condition support. Weekdays only (Mon–Fri), rostered between 8 am to 6 pm. No weekends.

What you’ll do

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a busy GP setting
• Triage and acute assessment, health screening, and patient education
• Immunisations, wound care, phlebotomy, intravenous therapy, cervical screening (if trained), and long-term condition reviews (e.g., diabetes, CVD, respiratory)
• Coordinate recalls, care plans, and follow-ups with the broader practice team
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to CQI/clinical governance activities
• Champion equity, cultural safety, and great patient experiences

What you’ll bring

Must-haves

• NZ Registered Nurse with current APC and CPR certificate
• Eligible to work in New Zealand
• Primary care / general practice experience (required)
• Authorised Vaccinator status (current and maintained)
• Strong grasp of clinical protocols, care planning, and patient education
• Team player with excellent communication and a calm, patient-firstapproach

Nice to have (or willing to obtain with our support)

• 2–3 years of practice nursing experience
• Familiarity withIndici (training provided if needed)
