Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a Practice Nurse to deliver high-quality primary healthcare within a busy general practice. You will work with GPs and the nursing team to provide patient assessments, education, immunisations, and chronic disease management.

Ideal candidates have at least one year in a general practice setting, strong clinical skills, and a patient-centered approach. Part-time or casual arrangements are available to fit your schedule.

Qualifications

• Current Annual Practicing Certificate from NZ Nursing Council.
• Minimum of one year experience in General Practice.
• Current Authorized Vaccinators Certificate (preferred).
• Cervical Smear Certification (preferred).
• Great assessment and time management skills.
• Experience working with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality primary healthcare services in a busy general practice.
• Carry out patient assessments and health education as part of routine care.
• Support chronic disease management and immunisation programmes.
• Wound care and preventative health initiatives within the team.

Position overview:As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality primary healthcare services and supporting positive patient outcomes within a busy general practice environment. Working collaboratively within a nursing team, and alongside General Practitioners and the wider clinical team, you will provide a range of nursing services including patient assessments, health education, chronic disease management, immunisations, wound care, and preventative health initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to reduce their days of work per week or add to an existing part-time/ casual position.
To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of one year of experience working in a general practice setting, strong clinical skills, and a genuine commitment to patient-centred care.
