Job summary

Asset Engineering Limited in Tauranga is seeking a General / Maintenance Engineer to join our busy workshop and site-based team. You will perform planned and preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs and fault finding across a range of plant and equipment.

This varied role also involves fabrication, welding, installation of guards, platforms and steelwork, plus on-site servicing for diverse clients throughout the Bay of Plenty.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Mechanical maintenance or general engineering experience.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Fabrication and welding experience.
• Full NZ Driver Licence.

We're looking for a General / Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll be carrying out preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, fault finding, fabrication, installation and general engineering work for a wide range of clients throughout the Bay of Plenty.

About the role

Your work will include planned and preventative maintenance of plant and equipment, breakdown maintenance and fault finding, diagnosing mechanical and operational faults, and general fabrication and welding. You will be responsible for manufacturing and installation of maintenance items including machine guarding, platforms and steps, handrails, and general steelwork. Installation and repair work on customer sites will be part of your responsibilities. You will work independently and as part of the wider engineering team. This role requires someone who is flexible and enjoys variety. While maintenance is the primary focus, you'll also assist with fabrication and installation projects when required.
