Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

Metro Performance Glass has been shaping the future of glass in New Zealand for nearly 40 years. We’re proud of our reputation for innovation, quality, but what really sets us apart is our people and our dedication to delivering excellent service to our customers.

Know your way around industrial machinery, automation and electrical maintenance? Got experience with PLCs, HMIs or Lisec equipment? We want to hear from you.

We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our close-knit team at our busy Auckland manufacturing plant in Highbrook.

Working alongside our other Maintenance Engineers, you’ll play a hands‑on role in keeping our plant and equipment running at its best. From planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs through to new installations and improvement projects, no two days will be the same.

This is a great opportunity to get involved in new systems, automation and plant improvement projects, while working closely with management and the wider production team. You’ll also help develop practical training processes and documentation to ensure knowledge and systems are effectively shared across the team.

Health and Safety isn’t negotiable — it’s simply how you work.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and equipment installations
  • A proven track record working in a busy, fast‑paced manufacturing or production environment
  • Knowledge of automation equipment, HMIs and PLCs — highly desirable, but not essential
  • Experience working with Lisec automated equipment would give you a real advantage
  • Strong fault‑finding, diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
  • Knowledge of automated and industrial production machinery
  • Someone who can work independently but is equally comfortable being part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the wider plant
  • Experience using a CMMS system and Microsoft applications
  • A proactive, self‑motivated approach with a genuine commitment to continuous improvement and Health & Safety

What’s in it for you?

  • Permanent, full‑time role — minimum 40 hours per week
  • Occasional Saturday work and periodic weekend on‑call work may be required
  • The opportunity to work with modern industrial equipment and automation
  • Career development opportunities within a larger organisation
  • A close‑knit team where your skills and contribution won’t go unnoticed

If you’re an experienced Maintenance Engineer who enjoys getting stuck into fault‑finding, keeping equipment running and working on continuous improvement projects, this could be the challenging and rewarding opportunity you’re looking for.

The fine print..

  • Pre‑employment drug testing applies - safety comes first!
  • You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand and already be living here
  • No visa or sponsorship applications
  • Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted
