Job summary

Media Design School at Strayer seeks a Future Student Advisor to guide prospective students from initial enquiry to enrolment. You will assess applications, provide personalised advice, and use delegated authority to admit within scope.

Collaborate with Student Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions to meet targets and grow admissions. You will maintain records in Salesforce, support campus events, and work with Program Managers to ensure a high-quality future student experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience in admissions or student recruitment.
  • Ability to assess applications against published entry criteria.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using CRM or admissions systems; Salesforce is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to prospective students and applicants at every stage of the admissions journey.
  • Review applicants against entry criteria (NCEA, CIE, IB, NZQA) and protect admissions integrity.
  • Offer enrolment to those who meet criteria or have approved entry; refer exceptions as needed.
  • Engage with applicants to drive conversions and achieve targets within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain accurate prospective student, lead and enrolment records in Salesforce and ensure data quality.

About the role:

As a Future Student Advisor,you’llguide prospective students through their journey frominitialenquiry to enrolment.You’llassess applications against published entry criteria, provide clear and personalised advice, and use your delegated authority to offer admission within the approved scope. Working closely with the Student Recruitment, Marketing,andAdmissions teams,you’lldeliver an outstanding future student experience while contributing to admissions targets and the growth of MDS at Strayer.

Key Accountabilities:

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to prospective students,applicantsand internal stakeholders at every stage of the admissions journey.
  • Review applicants against published entry criteria, including NCEA, CIE, IB and NZQA requirements, and protect the integrity of the admissions process.
  • Offer enrolment only to students who meet the relevant entry criteria or have approved entry from a Program Manager; refer exceptions for decision.
  • Actively engage and follow up applicants throughout the conversion process, completing follow-up activities within 24 hours and working towards agreed conversion targets.
  • Work collaboratively to achieve and exceedallocatedadmissions targets and contribute to a positive, student-centred team culture.
  • Maintainaccurateprospective student, lead,accountand enrolment records inSalesforce, ensuring supporting documentation is gathered and compliant.
  • Ensure lead and campaign information is captured through the Marketing Cloud-to-CRM process to supportaccuratereporting and data quality.
  • Prepareaccurateindividual reports and complete reporting requirementsin a timely manner.
  • Support campus tours, Open Days, Information Sessions, schoolvisitsand expos whenrequired,representingMDS at Strayer professionally.
  • Build strong working relationships with Program Managers, Marketing and Student Recruitment, Admissions and Enrolments, and other key internal teams.
  • Completeallocatedprojects, compulsorytrainingand other duties as directed by your manager, whilecomplying withrelevant policies, NZQA standards,legislationand codes.
Who you are:
  • Experience in admissions, student recruitment, customerserviceor a related role; experience in the higher education or VET sector isadvantageous.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain entry and enrolment requirements clearly and confidently.
  • Experience using CRM or admissions systems; competency with Salesforce isadvantageous.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A self-driven and autonomous approach, balanced with the ability to collaborate effectively and follow established processes.
  • A demonstratedtrack recordof meeting or exceeding targets in a customer-focused or sales-oriented environment.

This is a full-time, permanent position based at the Media Design School in Auckland and is an on-site position.
