Job summary

New Zealand Health Group – Wellington provides disability support services across the North Island. We are seeking energetic, full-time Support Workers to assist people in our Masterton and Greytown residential services, with a mix of morning, evening and overnight shifts.

You will help with daily living activities, meals, personal cares and life-skills teaching, joining a dedicated team delivering safe, respectful care 24/7. NZ Resident or valid work permit required.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare settings preferred, including disability support.
• Ability to work across mornings, evenings and overnights on rosters.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support people with daily living activities and community engagement.
• Assist with meals, personal cares, and household tasks as part of daily routines.
• Work as part of a 24/7 shift team across Masterton and Greytown services.

We are looking for energetic and motivated full-time Support Workers to support people in our Masterton and Greytown residential services.

Our shift times are 7:00am–3:00pm, 3:00pm–11:00pm, and wakeover/sleepover shifts from 11:00pm–7:00am. The right candidate will have the flexibility and availability to work a mix of morning, evening, and overnight shifts across both Masterton and Greytown.

This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and to do the things they want to do such as going swimming, personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks and teaching life skills. - The list is endless! Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support with the potential of additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.

• People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenges behaviours.
• Full driver's license is essential.
• Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own.
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
