Job summary

New Zealand Health Group – New Plymouth, North Island is seeking casual Support Workers to assist people in their own homes in New Plymouth Residential Services. You will help with daily activities, wellbeing, and community inclusion, working within a supportive team in a safe environment.

Responsibilities include helping with personal care, meals, household tasks, attending activities such as swimming, and teaching life skills.

Qualifications

• Passion for helping others and respectful of diverse living styles.
• Experience in healthcare/disabilities settings preferred.
• Full driver's license is essential.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support people in their own homes with daily activities and personal cares.
• Assist with meals, household tasks, and life skills development.
• Support participation in community activities (e.g., swimming).
• Work as part of a rostered team providing 24/7 support, with potential sleepover payments.

We are looking for casual Support Workers to help the people we support in our New Plymouth Residential Services.

This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and to do the things they want to do such as going swimming, personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks and teaching life skills. - The list is endless! Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support with the potential of additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.

• People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenges behaviours.
• Full driver's license is essential.
• Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own.
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
