Job summary

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is hiring a Full-Time Community Support Worker in Napier to support tangata whaiora and their whānau. The role focuses on practical, strengths-based support to help people gain independence and achieve personal goals within the community.

You will work with a dedicated team, be encouraged to contribute ideas, and help people build life skills, confidence, and relationships while following safety and risk management plans.

Responsibilities

  • Building genuine, trusting relationships with tangata whaiora and their whānau.
  • Supporting people to identify, work towards and celebrate meaningful personal goals.
  • Providing practical, day-to-day support based on individual goals, support plans and identified needs.
  • Supporting safe practice by following risk management and safety plans.
  • Working collaboratively with your team and external community partners.
  • Sharing ideas, insights and updates to contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Keeping clear, accurate and professional records and incident documentation.

As a Support Worker, you’ll walk alongside tangata whaiora and their whānau, providing practical, strengths-based support that helps people achieve their goals and create positive change in their lives.

No two days will be the same. You’ll work alongside your team and community partners to support people with everything from developing life skills and strengthening relationships to building confidence, communication and independence. You’ll be encouraged to bring your ideas, think creatively and learn as you go.
