Job summary

West Harbour Medical Centre in Auckland's West area is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist cum Health Care Assistant to join our clinic team. You will be the first point of contact for patients, manage appointments, and support doctors and nurses with patient care.

A warm, friendly telephone presence and patient-service focus are essential. We offer free training and opportunities to develop in the evergreen healthcare sector.

Qualifications

• Medical receptionist experience is required.
• Must be able to welcome patients warmly and professionally.
• Ability to book appointments and process payments.
• Handle calls, emails, and text messages effectively.
• Assist doctors and nurses with patient care as needed.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and assisting patients in a warm and professional manner.
• Booking appointments and processing payments.
• Managing phone calls, emails, and text messages.
• Liaising with ACC and other medical professionals.
• Providing administrative support across practitioners and the clinical team.
• General administration, reception duties, and light clinic cleaning.
• Assist doctors with minor surgical procedures.
• Support nurses and doctors with patient care and clinical assessments.
• Prepare clinical rooms and ensure equipment and supplies are ready for use.
• Maintain and clean equipment, and manage the instrument sanitiser.
• Follow infection prevention, health and safety, privacy, and confidentiality requirements.
