Job summary

New World Havelock North is seeking an experienced and driven Fresh Foods Manager to lead our fresh departments. This is a key leadership role responsible for delivering outstanding quality, presentation, and customer service across our fresh food departments.

You will oversee day-to-day operations of all fresh departments, lead and develop the team, ensure food safety and compliance, drive sales, and manage stock to minimise waste in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a supermarket or fresh foods leadership role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
• A hands-on approach with a strong work ethic.
• Solid understanding of food safety and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of all fresh departments (Butchery, Produce, Seafood, Bakery, etc.).
• Leading, motivating, and developing team members.
• Ensuring high standards of product quality, availability, and presentation.
• Providing oversight and support to managers in managing stock levels, ensuring accurate ordering practices, and implementing strategies to minimise waste.
• Driving sales and achieving department targets.
• Maintaining food safety and health & safety compliance.
