Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to oversee retail operations and drive growth in the Queenstown region. You will lead a sales team, develop strategic account plans, and ensure optimal product placement and performance within the retail channel.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in FMCG sales management, strong leadership, and excellent negotiation and analytical skills. Occasional travel within the region is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in sales management, with FMCG retail focus.
• Proven experience in managing and developing a sales team.
• Strong understanding of retail operations and trade marketing.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
• Strategic thinking and strong analytical abilities to interpret sales data.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
• Proficiency in CRM and sales analytics software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of retail sales representatives to meet/exceed sales targets.
• Develop and execute sales strategies for the retail channel in the territory.
• Build and maintain relationships with key retail partners, buyers, and category managers.
• Analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and challenges.
• Ensure effective product distribution, merchandising, and promotional execution at retail level.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, and reporting for the sales team and region.
• Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, and operations for seamless sales plan execution.
• Provide coaching and development to the sales team to enhance skills and performance.
• Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
