Job summary

ASX CONSTRUCTION LIMITED in Auckland, North Island, is seeking a skilled tradesperson to fit, install, renovate and repair wood floors, cabinet furniture, fittings, and fixtures in residential and commercial settings. You will read blueprints, plan layouts, and use hand and power tools to shape and install timber components.

The role requires at least one year of related experience, physical fitness, and availability for full-time work, with wages from NZD 27 to NZD 32 per hour and guaranteed

Qualifications

• At least one year of relevant work experience in construction related industry.
• Be physically fit and healthy.
• Full time available.
• No criminal record.
• Candidates need to be NZ citizen/resident.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand specifications in blueprints, sketches or flooring plans.
• Prepare project work procedure and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Plan the order and selection of timbers and other materials, and prepare layouts.
• Shape and cut materials to specified measurements, using hand or power tools.
• Assemble and nail prepared parts to form flooring base, framework or structures.
• Erect wood framing, build internal walls and partitions, make staircases, cabinet furniture and layout sub-flooring/floorboards.
• Fit, install and repair floors using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
• Build and install stairways, doors and window boards and fascia panels.
• Cover and line structures with materials to insulate against cold, heat, or moisture.
• Remove and repair existing fittings, conduct renovation and maintenance service for the wood structures when required.
• Follow established safety rules and maintain a safe and clean environment.

Tasks Include:

• Fit, install and repair floors using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools

• May c over and line structures with materials to insulate against cold, heat, or moisture, using saws, knives, rasps, trowels and other tools and implements
• Remove and repair existing fittings, conduct renovation and maintenance service for the wood structures when required
• Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• T he employee may be required to carry out any other tasks and duties which are reasonable necessary or incidental to the position.

Pay: Minimum $27.00 / hour Maximum $ 32.00 / hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 3 0 hours , permanent full time
