Job summary

Russell McVeagh in New Zealand seeks a Credit Controller to join the National Finance team. You will support accounts receivable, maintain customer records, and assist with cash collections to sustain cash flow and minimise credit risk.

This role welcomes part-time hours and flexible arrangements while maintaining office presence. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in credit control, with strong communication, numeracy and confidentiality skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years' experience in a credit control role.
• Experience in a legal, accounting, consulting or other partnership-based professional services firm strongly preferred.
• Confident and professional communication skills (including excellent phone manner).
• Be methodical and organised, with high attention to detail.
• Highly numerate.
• Demonstrated ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Be organised and able to prioritise and manage several tasks at once to achieve deadlines.
• Have a ‘can do’ attitude, go the extra mile, a team player.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with financial or practice management systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cash collections and client credit checks.
• Reconcile invoices with payments received to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records and filing within our document management system.
• Assist with sending monthly statements.
• Resolve billing discrepancies and disputes in coordination with internal teams and clients.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency of accounts receivable.
• Provide backup and support to Credit and Collections Manager and wider finance team.
