Job summary

Russell McVeagh in Auckland is seeking a Credit Controller to join our National Finance team. You will support the accounts receivable process and help maintain up-to-date customer records to support cash flow.

The successful candidate will have at least three years in credit control, strong numeracy, excellent communication, and proficiency in Excel and finance systems. This fast-paced role offers a collaborative environment at a premier firm.

  • Experience in a legal, accounting, consulting or other partnership-based professional services firm strongly preferred.
  • Confident and professional communication skills (including excellent phone manner).
  • Be methodical and organised, with high attention to detail.
  • Highly numerate.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

About the role

We are looking for a Credit Controller superstar to join our National Finance team. You will be responsible for supporting the accounts receivable process and maintaining up-to-date customer account records. Working closely with our Credit and Collections Manager, this role plays a key part in maintaining the firm’s cash flow and minimising credit risk.

Key accountabilities:

  • Assisting the Credit and Collections Manager with cash collections and client credit checks.
  • Reconciling invoices with payments received to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing within our document management system.
  • Assist with the sending of monthly statements.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and disputes in coordination with internal teams and clients.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the accounts receivable function.
  • Provide backup and support to the Credit and Collections Manager and the wider finance team
