Job summary

Chubb Fire & Security seeks a Fire Alarm Technician to install, service and repair life-safety systems across commercial and industrial sites. The role emphasizes adherence to NZ standards and the Building Act, ensuring equipment functions as designed.

You will be responsible for fault finding, routine maintenance, and reporting, with a focus on safety, quality, and clear communication within a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a fire alarm technician or in a similar role.
  • Be legally able to work in New Zealand.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • NZQA Level 4 Fire Qualification would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prepare written reports with clear detailed information.
  • Have a clean, full NZ driver licence and the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
  • Clear criminal history record.
  • Abide by Health and Safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair Fire Alarm Systems in new and existing commercial and industrial premises.
  • Service and maintain life safety systems in line with NZ Standards and Building Act.
  • Work on a full-time, 40 hours per week schedule (Mon–Fri).

As a Fire Alarm Technician at Chubb, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Fire Alarm Systems in new and existing commercial and Industrial premises. This is a full-time position that requires a high level of technical expertise and a commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our clients. Your role is to service and maintain life safety systems in line with NZ Standards and the Building Act to ensure the equipment works in accordance with the NZ standard.

The role is full time and permanent - 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a fire alarm technician or in a similar role
  • Be legally able to work in New Zealand
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • NZQA Level 4 Fire Qualification would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
