Job summary

Tradestaff in New Zealand is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician for a contract role. You will install, service and commission fire alarm systems on commercial sites, reading plans and running electrical cabling as required. The successful candidate will troubleshoot faults, complete testing and documentation, and maintain high safety standards. A valid driver’s licence and MOJ clearance may be required, with pre-employment drug testing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Technician.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm installations and commissioning.
• Experience reading plans and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to work independently and on a team.
• Reliable transport and a valid driver’s licence.

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. This is a contract opportunity for a skilled technician with a strong background in fire alarm systems, installation, cabling, and commissioning.
The successful candidate will have hands-on experience installing and servicing fire protection systems, with the ability to read plans, run electrical cables, complete fit-offs, and carry out commissioning and testing to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, terminate, test, and commission fire alarm systems
• Run and install electrical cabling and containment
• Carry out fault finding, troubleshooting, and system checks
• Complete commissioning, testing, and documentation
• Work safely and professionally on commercial sites
• Follow technical drawings, specifications, and safety procedures

• Strong knowledge of fire alarm installations and commissioning
