Job summary

AssetCare NZ Limited in Auckland, North Island is seeking an experienced Fire Systems Technician to join our team, delivering compliance, maintenance and inspection services across client sites. The role covers testing, maintenance, inspection and occasional installation of fire protection systems, with a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship and customer service.

You will work across varied fire safety services in a supportive NZ business environment, with training and development

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in fire alarm systems installation, testing and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant fire standards, safety regulations, codes of practice and compliance obligations.
  • IQP registration preferred and not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine fire systems testing in line with industry standards and legislative requirements.
  • Complete maintenance and repairs on fire alarm and detection systems.
  • Install new fire protection and alarm systems according to design specifications (when required)
  • Conduct fire system surveys to assess functionality, safety and compliance.
  • Service and maintain fire safety equipment, including alarms and extinguishers.
  • Perform emergency lighting testing to confirm system functionality during power failure.
  • Undertake passive fire inspections to verify fire safety measures are in place.
  • Complete Building Warrant of Fitness inspections in accordance with local requirements.
  • Carry out backflow testing where required.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required by management.

AssetCare NZ Limited is seeking an experienced and detail-focused Fire Systems Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with a strong background in fire systems to contribute to the delivery of high-quality compliance, maintenance and inspection services across a range of client sites.

About the role

The Fire Systems Technician is responsible for the testing, maintenance and inspection of fire protection systems and related equipment. There may be some installation work involved from time to time. This role plays a key part in ensuring all work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards, safety requirements and customer expectations. You will be working across a variety of fire safety services, with a strong focus on compliance, quality workmanship and professional service delivery.

Key responsibilities

Carry out routine fire systems testing in line with industry standards and legislative requirements.

Complete maintenance and repairs on fire alarm and detection systems.

Install new fire protection and alarm systems according to design specifications (when required)

Conduct fire system surveys to assess functionality, safety and compliance.

Service and maintain fire safety equipment, including alarms and extinguishers.

Perform emergency lighting testing to confirm system functionality during power failure.

About you
