Massey University – Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa invites applications for a Finance Officer – Accounts Receivable in Palmerston North. You will deliver accounts receivable and debt management services, supporting student debtor accounts and debt collection activities.

This two-year fixed-term, full-time position involves processing financial transactions, maintaining records and providing excellent service to stakeholders across the University community.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts receivable or debt management.
• Excellent written communication skills with proper grammar and punctuation.
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Good problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with financial systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage student debtor accounts in line with University policies.
• Monitor outstanding debt and undertake collection activities within timeframes.
• Respond to enquiries from students, departments and external customers with professional advice.
• Coordinate debt collection activities and liaise with external collection agencies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and document interactions.
• Process invoices, credit notes, payments, journals and account adjustments accurately.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes.
