Contact Energy is seeking a Finance Manager (Financial Insights Specialist) to join the Finance team in Wellington on a fixed-term basis. The role focuses on translating complex data into commercially relevant insights and shaping long-term planning and investment decisions.

You’ll partner with the Trading function and business leaders to deliver forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting, ensuring accurate insight and high-quality recommendations across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in commercial finance, financial insights, business partnering or a similar discipline.
• Ability to combine technical finance expertise with commercial judgement to support decisions, assess risk and identify opportunities.
• Strong technical finance capability with the ability to challenge assumptions and provide robust analysis.
• Experience in complex, commercially focused organisations where revenue, cost, performance and strategic decisions are linked.
• Ability to interpret data, identify trends and communicate insights to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercially relevant insights to support decision making with Finance and Trading leaders.
• Translate financial/operational/market information into meaningful analysis and recommendations.
• Deliver forecasting, budgeting, and planning activities with clear visibility of risks and opportunities.
• Support enterprise reporting and financial insight frameworks for consistent, decision-ready information.
• Build relationships across Finance and the wider business and influence conversations with trusted advice.
• Contribute to long-range planning and strategic forecasting initiatives.
