Contact Energy Ltd in Wellington is seeking a data analyst for a 12-month fixed-term contract within the Market Development & Optimisation team. You will support pricing, reporting, and commercial insight across the Trading group and wholesale business.

You'll apply quantitative analysis, develop reporting, and partner with stakeholders to turn complex information into clear insights and recommendations. This role offers flexible/hybrid work from our Wellington office.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in data or analytical roles in a commercial environment.
• Coding capability using Python, R, or similar.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to translate data into insights.
• Commercial awareness and interest in business decisions.
• Confidence building relationships with stakeholders.
• Proactive approach and good judgement.
• Relevant degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, CS, Finance, Science, or related.

Responsabilités

• Apply quantitative analysis to support pricing activities and commercial decision‑making.
• Develop and expand reporting that supports sales activities and channel management.
• Partner with stakeholders across Trading and the wider wholesale business to turn complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of pricing tools, reporting processes, and systems used across the Trading group.
• The role offers a mix of technical analysis, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and commercial exposure.
