Job summary

Contact Energy is seeking a quantitative analyst to join the Market Development & Optimisation team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract in Wellington. You’ll support pricing activities, energy agreements, and commercial decision‑making through rigorous data analysis and reporting enhancements.

You’ll work with stakeholders across Trading and wholesale to turn complex information into actionable insights and help refine pricing tools and processes while gaining exposure to New Zealand’s evolving

Qualifications

2–3 years of data/quantitative analysis experience in a commercial setting.
Proficient coding with Python or R in data analysis contexts.
Strong attention to detail and ability to translate data into business insights.

Responsibilities

Apply quantitative analysis to support pricing activities, energy agreements, and commercial decisions.
Develop and expand reporting to support sales activities and channel management strategy.
Collaborate with stakeholders to turn complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
Contribute to pricing tools, reporting processes, and systems across the Trading group.
