Job summary

Halter is hiring a Junior Field Technician to keep our collar fleet moving across farms throughout New Zealand. You'll serve as the link between on-farm operations and the engineering team in Auckland, ensuring collars reach the right farms, are tracked accurately, and returned to HQ when needed.

Expect long drives between sites, up to 2–3 nights away per week, and a fixed-term contract. The role suits an upbeat go-getter who thrives on practical, field-based work and making a real impact in

Qualifications

• NZ Class 1 driver's license is required.
• On-farm experience is a plus, especially beef or dairy cow work.
• You must be a strong communicator who can relate to farmers.
• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks.
• Reliable, punctual and take ownership of your schedule.
• Able to work independently on the road and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily travel and use route optimization to cover every farm efficiently.
• Drive between farms to service the collar fleet.
• Manage collar stock on client farms with accurate counts.
• Pack and dispatch urgent spare collars to farms in need.
• Return collars to AKL HQ and keep logistics running smoothly.
• Conduct hardware audits and trials on customer farms.
• Be the positive, professional Halter representative on-farm.
