Job summary

FIRST Security in Christchurch is seeking a Part Time Field Service Officer (24 hours per week) to respond to a variety of field jobs across contracts, installing and maintaining electronic monitoring equipment and serving clients safely and professionally.

You will perform regulatory duties, alarms, ATM servicing, and medical alarm work, while liaising with clients and internal teams. A full NZ licence, MOJ check, and COA are required; NZ residency or valid work visa is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to think quickly and stay calm under pressure.
• Good level of physical fitness.
• Full NZ Driver’s Licence.
• Ability to pass a Ministry of Justice Criminal Convictions check.
• A current COA or the ability to obtain one.
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain electronic monitoring equipment.
• Respond to field service jobs including alarms and lock/unlock tasks.
• Carry out regulatory and compliance duties.
• Patrol client sites and respond to incidents and callouts.
• Install and service medical alarm equipment.
• Service ATM machines as part of NCR contract.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Complete all work accurately and in line with procedures and contract requirements.
• Provide professional and respectful service across environments.
• Assist in other areas of the business when required.

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated Part Time Field Service Officer (24 hours per week) to join our team in Christchurch. This is a varied field-based role where no two days are necessarily the same. You’ll respond to a range of jobs across different contracts, supporting our clients and communities while ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and in line with FIRST Security procedures.

Your work could include electronic monitoring, regulatory and compliance services, security patrols, alarm responses, medical alarm installations, ATM servicing and more.

Duties:

• Installing and maintaining electronic monitoring equipment
• Responding to a range of field service jobs, including alarms, escorts, lock ups and unlocks
• Carrying out regulatory and compliance duties, including noise control, animal services and bylaw monitoring
• Patrolling client sites and responding to incidents and callouts
• Installing and servicing medical alarm equipment
• Servicing ATM machines as part of our NCR contract
• Liaising with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently
• Completing all work accurately and in line with relevant procedures, protocols and contract requirements
• Providing professional and respectful service across a variety of environments
• Assisting in other areas of the business when required
