Job summary

Liebherr NZ is seeking a Field Service Technician to service and repair heavy equipment across Auckland and wider New Zealand. You will diagnose faults, perform servicing, and build strong relationships with customers in the field.

We value hands-on technicians with trade qualifications, flexibility to travel, and a focus on safety. A tool of trade vehicle and overtime are offered to support career progression.

Qualifications

• Hands-on technician with pride in workmanship.
• Trade qualification as Diesel or Mobile Plant Mechanic.
• Experience with earthmoving or heavy mobile equipment.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
• A current driver's licence and flexibility to travel.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics and fault-finding across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Major and minor servicing of Liebherr equipment.
• Preventative maintenance and component replacement.
• Fabrication and new machine builds as required.
• Complete accurate service reports and return to customers.
• Travel to customer sites across Auckland and wider New Zealand.
• Build strong customer relationships and work with key accounts.

About the role

As a Field Service Technician, you'll be out in the field working directly with customers across Auckland and New Zealand.

You'll service, maintain, diagnose and repair a diverse range of Liebherr equipment, including wheel loaders, material handlers and excavators.

You'll have the opportunity to work on everything from routine servicing through to complex mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault finding, while developing strong relationships with key customers along the way.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostics and fault finding
• Major and minor servicing
• Preventative maintenance and component replacement
• Fabrication and new machine builds as requiredCompleting accurate service reports
• Working directly with customers and key accounts
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Travelling to customer sites across Auckland and wider New Zealand
• Working additional hours when required, with overtime paid at time and a half

What we're looking for

We're looking for a hands-on technician who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems and is comfortable working independently in the field.

You'll ideally have:

• A trade qualification as a Diesel or Mobile Plant Mechanic
• Experience with earthmoving or heavy mobile equipment
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills
• A current driver's licence
• Flexibility to travel to customer sites and work overtime when required
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Basic Word and Excel skills

Liebherr equipment experience is highly desirable.

Forklift, W, T, R and Air Conditioning tickets will also be highly regarded.
