Job summary

FIRST Security in Napier is seeking a casual Field Service Officer to join our team. This role covers electrical monitoring, alarms, on-site responses and regulatory duties across diverse contracts.

You’ll liaise with clients, perform installations, and ensure compliance with company procedures while delivering professional service. Applicants should hold a COA or be able to obtain one, have a full NZ driver’s licence, and be eligible to work in NZ.

• Good level of physical fitness.
• Full NZ Driver’s Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Installing and maintaining electronic monitoring equipment.
• Responding to field service jobs, including alarms, escorts, lock ups and unlocks.
• Carrying out regulatory and compliance duties, including noise control, animal services and bylaw monitoring.
• Patrolling client sites and responding to incidents and callouts.
• Installing and servicing medical alarm equipment.
• Servicing ATM machines as part of NCR contract.
• Liaising with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Completing all work accurately and in line with procedures and contract requirements.
• Providing professional and respectful service across environments.

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated casual Field Service Officer to join our team in Napier. This is a varied field-based role where no two days are necessarily the same. You’ll respond to a range of jobs across different contracts, supporting our clients and communities while ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and in line with FIRST Security procedures.

Your work could include electronic monitoring, regulatory and compliance services, security patrols, alarm responses, medical alarm installations, ATM servicing and more.

Duties:

• Installing and maintaining electronic monitoring equipment
• Responding to a range of field service jobs, including alarms, escorts, lock ups and unlocks
• Carrying out regulatory and compliance duties, including noise control, animal services and bylaw monitoring
• Patrolling client sites and responding to incidents and callouts
• Installing and servicing medical alarm equipment
• Servicing ATM machines as part of our NCR contract
• Liaising with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently
• Completing all work accurately and in line with relevant procedures, protocols and contract requirements
• Providing professional and respectful service across a variety of environments
• Assisting in other areas of the business when required

What you’ll need:

• A ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to learn
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Ability to think quickly and stay calm under pressure
• Good level of physical fitness
• Full NZ Driver’s Licence
• Ability to pass a Ministry of Justice Criminal Convictions check
• A current COA or the ability to obtain one
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
