Job summary

Bluecurrent is seeking a Field Operations Manager to lead Bluecurrent Electrical Services across New Zealand. You will manage a geographically dispersed team and contractors to deliver safe, reliable, and customer-focused field service outcomes.

You will drive commercial performance, improve productivity and utilization, and design an operating model that scales with growth, while upholding strong health, safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading operations in field services or similar complex environments.
• Strong commercial discipline, including cost-to-serve and productivity improvements.
• Proven ability to manage contractors or field service providers.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Operations Manager to lead Bluecurrent Electrical Services (BES) and help shape the future of field service delivery across New Zealand.

In this role, you’ll lead a geographically dispersed workforce and work with your team and contractors to deliver safe, reliable and customer‑focused outcomes. You’ll have real scope to influence how we work- driving commercial performance, operational excellence and continuous improvement, while building a high‑performing operation that supports our people, partners and customers.

What success looks like in this role:

• Lead BES to deliver safe, reliable and high-quality field services across New Zealand, creating strong outcomes for customers, contractors and our people.
• Continuously improve productivity, utilisation and cost‑to‑serve through practical scheduling, clear priorities and effective day‑to‑day operational leadership.
• Take ownership of commercial and operational performance, including rates, quality, service levels and health, safety and environmental outcomes.
• Build confidence in delivery through clear performance governance, regular KPI rhythms, cost controls and benefits tracking.
• Shape a fit‑for‑purpose operating model that supports growth, scalability and clear accountability across the BES operation.
• Create clarity, momentum and collaboration across a geographically dispersed team enabling the team to deliver excellence.

What you will bring

You’ll bring experience leading operations in a field services or similarly complex environment, with the ability to balance commercial performance, people leadership and a strong commitment to health and safety. You will also ideally bring:

• Experience leading a dispersed workforce across multiple locations.
• Strong commercial discipline, including cost‑to‑serve, productivity and utilisation improvement.
• Demonstrated experience managing contractors, subcontractors or field service providers.
• A commitment to health, safety and environmental leadership and continuous improvement.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship‑building and change leadership capability.
