Job summary

Beon Energy Solutions Pty is seeking an experienced Field HSE Advisor for our Leeston Solar Farm project in New Zealand. This hands-on role involves providing practical health, safety and environmental support across construction activities and working closely with project leaders, workers and contractors.

You will coordinate and improve project HSE systems, conduct inspections and risk assessments, and lead incident investigations while promoting safe work practices and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Qualified in Health & Safety (NZ Certificate Level 4 or equivalent recognised HSE qualification).
• Minimum three years' experience in a site-based HSE role within construction, civil, utilities or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand health, safety and environmental legislation and requirements.
• Experienced in applying practical HSE systems and controls within operational construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline HSE leadership, coaching and support to workers, contractors and project teams.
• Implement and maintain project HSE management plans, site safety plans and safe work procedures.
• Lead site inspections, audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Monitor HSE performance, identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Review risk assessments, permits and controls for high-risk construction activities.
• Support worker engagement through inductions, toolbox talks, pre-starts and HSE committee participation.
• Monitor contractor compliance and provide practical advice to supervisors and project leaders.
• Implement and monitor the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and related plans for the project.
