Job summary

NewPower Energy Limited, a New Zealand leader in renewable energy solutions, seeks a hands-on electrical technician to maintain, test and repair solar and BESS assets across field sites in Waikato. You will work with high-voltage equipment, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, undertake HV switching, diagnose faults, and record asset data using diagnostic tools and SCADA.

Qualifications

• NZ electrical registration with current practising licence.
• HV switching competency supported by practical experience.
• Experience in industrial/commercial electrical infrastructure.
• Strong fault-finding capability with electrical test equipment.
• Sound understanding of electrical and workplace safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on solar and BESS assets.
• Perform authorised HV and LV switching per plans and procedures.
• Diagnose and repair faults across electrical plant and systems.
• Inspect, тест and record asset condition using diagnostic equipment and digital tools.
• Work with inverters, transformer switching stations, ring main units and SCADA systems.
• Participate in 24-hour callout roster and collaborate with control centres, contractors and suppliers.
