Job summary

AECOM's New Zealand renewable team is seeking an Associate Director - Renewable Energy (Solar) to lead technical delivery across complex solar and BESS projects from Christchurch. You will shape project strategies, manage client relationships, and coordinate across disciplines to drive delivery excellence.

You will mentor engineers, ensure compliance with NZ regulations, and grow the NZ market presence while exploring opportunities on Australian sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Solar or related energy engineering with a focus on project delivery.
• Proven track record of building positive client relationships with senior leaders.
• Strong knowledge of NZ construction regulations and requirements.
• Experience with Solar, BESS, and related system performance and guarantees.

Responsibilities

• Be the Solar project delivery and technical lead in NZ, engaging clients and market stakeholders.
• Lead procurement and tender evaluations to normalise competing offers and manage risks.
• Support contract negotiations on performance guarantees, warranties, and O&M obligations.
• Mentor and coach Solar/ Renewable Engineers within the Generation and Storage team.
