Job summary

Green by Nature in Thames, New Zealand, is seeking a Facilities Operator to help maintain parks, playgrounds, and public spaces across Mercury Bay and surrounding areas. The role involves rubbish collection, cleaning amenities, and general maintenance under supervision.

This outdoor, physical position requires a full, clean driver’s licence (manual capable), good fitness, strong health and safety awareness, and a team-oriented work ethic. Prior experience is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• This position requires a full, clean driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
• Excellent physical fitness for outdoor, manual tasks and public space maintenance.
• Strong awareness of health and safety policies and procedures.
• Good teamwork and self-motivation; willingness to contribute to a local community team.
• Previous similar role experience is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Rubbish collection and disposal across assigned areas.
• Cleaning of public amenities including barbeques and bus stops.
• General maintenance and cleaning of public bathrooms in Mercury Bay and surrounds.
• Report to the team manager and adhere to company policies.

What does a Facilities Operator do you ask?

Reporting to the team manager, you will be responsible for various duties including, but not limited to, rubbish collection and disposal, cleaning of public amenities such as barbeques and bus stops, and general maintenance and cleaning of certain public bathrooms across the Mercury Bay and surrounding areas.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• A full, clean driver's licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle
• The desire to work in an outdoor, physical role - a good level of fitness is required!
• A high health and safety awareness with a commitment toadhering to our company policies and procedures
• An awesome work ethic, self-motivation and be able to work well within a team
• Previous experience ina similar role/environment is preferred but not essential
