Job summary

West Rolleston Primary School in Rolleston, South Island, is seeking an experienced Teaching/Learning Assistant to support primary-age children with neurodiverse needs. The role requires police vetting and can start immediately, fixed-term to 15 December 2026.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, during term time. Applications close 28 August 2026 at 12 pm.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting primary age children, especially junior years.
• Police vetting completed or able to obtain.
• Able to start immediately and commit to a term-time fixed-term role.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering learning activities.
• Support students with neurodiverse needs in class and during routines.
• Monitor and report student progress to teaching staff.

We are looking for an experienced Teaching/Learning Assistant.

This person must be positive, experienced in supporting primary age children [particularly junior years] with neuro diverse needs. The successful applicant will be required to be Police vetted and would be able to start immediately.
