Job summary

Access Community Health in Cambridge, North Island, seeks Kaiāwhina/Support Workers to provide person-centred care in clients' homes. No qualifications required to start, with comprehensive paid training and flexible hours to suit study, family, or commitments.

Weekend shifts available with extra pay and paid travel time/mileage. You will support daily living activities, respect culture and values, and learn within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Full or restricted driver’s license is required.
• Level 3/4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience with spinal injuries and stoma management is preferred.
• Familiarity with hoist equipment and medication administration is advantageous.
• Commitment to culturally safe and respectful support.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, respectful, person-centred support in clients' homes.
• Assist with daily living activities while honoring culture, values and routines.
• Follow training and care plans and collaborate with the team.
• Document and communicate care needs during onboarding and ongoing shifts.

• Full/restricted driver’s license
  • Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience
  • Spinal injury experience
  • Stoma Management experience
  • Experienced in the use of a full, standing and two-person hoist
  • Experience administering prescribed medication
  • Love working with people and helping them thrive
  • Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person
  • Have experience in or exposure to caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or other people‑facing roles

• Monday to Friday plus alternate weekends - 9:45am - 2:00pm
• Monday to Friday plus alternate weekends - 2:00pm - 6:00pm
