Job description

Executive Assistant & Business Support [Graduate]

This position would ideally suit a Commerce graduate who is interested in business operations, working closely with an executive, and gaining exposure to a wide range of areas including tenders, compliance, contracts, business development and growth activities. No two days are likely to be the same. Working closely with the Director, you'll have the opportunity to work across all parts of the business, getting involved in everything from operations and projects to marketing, compliance and growth. It's a great opportunity to get a broad understanding of how a business works rather than being limited to one area.

Who are we?

We are a logistics company with a fleet of container trucks. We keep freight moving, but there's a lot more to the business than trucks and containers, which is why this role will give you exposure to so many different parts of the company. You don't need to know anything about transport when you start - it's something you can learn on the job. You'll quickly pick up an understanding of the industry, and you never know, you might even start to bore those around you with your growing knowledge of trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting and maintaining our current email management system, including responding to emails
  • Managing incoming phone calls and directing enquiries
  • Organising the executive's calendar and daily diary
  • Assisting with projects including tender preparation and audit preparation
  • Preparing and maintaining contracts
  • Maintaining and updating SOPs and company policies
  • Supporting business growth and development activities
  • Assisting with general business and executive support as required
  • Working on company marketing including maintaining and updating company website and social media
The Ideal Candidate
  • Organised
  • Working alongside an executive means there are often many things happening at once. You will need to be highly organised, able to prioritise competing tasks and keep accurate records.
  • Strong Communication Skills - You will work with virtual and international teams, as well as external clients, so strong communication skills are important. You will need to be confident communicating with people from different backgrounds and have strong written communication skills.
  • AI Skills - AI will be used extensively throughout the role to support a range of business functions. Experience using advanced or complex AI tools would be an advantage, and we are looking for someone who is comfortable learning and embracing new technology.
  • Legal & Compliance - The role will involve assisting with contract preparation and a range of compliance-related tasks. An understanding of basic legal and commercial principles would be an advantage.
Marketing & Growth

You will also have the opportunity to work across the company’s marketing and growth activities. This will include maintaining and updating our website, managing and developing our social media presence, and helping create new content and ideas to strengthen our brand. This is a bit of a blank canvas - one of your first tasks will be to look at what we currently have, identify opportunities to improve it, and help shape where we go from there. We are looking for someone who is willing to take ownership, bring ideas to the table and have a go at new things.

Be a second set of eyes

Don't be afraid to question things, challenge an idea or play devil's advocate. We want someone who can have a constructive debate and bring a different perspective.

What We’re Looking For
  • No previous work experience is required. We are more interested in your ability to organise, communicate, learn quickly and take responsibility.
  • If you are a recent graduate, or graduating in November 2026, and this sounds like the type of role you would enjoy, we would love to hear from you.
  • The successful candidate will ideally be available to work full-time from mid-November 2026 and be based in Mt Eden, Auckland.
  • There may also be an opportunity to start earlier to assist with onboarding and handover.
  • If you have the right attitude and soft skills, we encourage you to apply.

Jora New Zealand will close on 16th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.
