Job summary

McKay is looking for an Engineering Manager NZ to lead and grow our engineering function. You will be the face of our capability, coach engineers, and drive growth with clients and markets.

You’ll combine technical credibility with strong leadership to shape strategy, win work, and develop future leaders while delivering projects safely and to high standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrical or Automation Engineer with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Proven track record growing client relationships and winning work.
• Ability to engage with customers and drive business growth.
• Energetic, credible technical leader with commercial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing the strategy for McKay's Engineering function.

McKay is seeking an ambitious, energetic and commercially minded Engineering Manager NZ to lead and grow our engineering business. This is an opportunity to take a highly capable engineering team and help shape what comes next. We're looking for someone with technical credibility, but this isn't a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk reviewing designs.

This role is about leadership. It's about building trusted client relationships, identifying opportunities, growing capability, developing future leaders, and creating an engineering team that people want to be part of.

You'll be the face of our engineering capability with clients, a coach and mentor to our engineers, and a key contributor to McKay's future growth.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

Growing Our Engineering Business

• Developing and executing the strategy for McKay's Engineering function.
• Identifying opportunities to grow existing client relationships and open new markets.

• Representing McKay with clients, partners and industry stakeholders.
