Job summary

McKay in New Zealand seeks an ambitious Engineering Manager to lead and grow our engineering capability. This role focuses on building trusted client relationships, developing future leaders, and delivering high‑standard projects across infrastructure, industrial, construction, marine and renewable sectors.

You'll mentor engineers, shape the strategy for McKay's Engineering function, win new work, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required and professional registration preferred.
• Experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
• Proven ability to win new work and grow client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing strategy for McKay's Engineering function.
• Growing client relationships and opening new markets.
• Winning new work alongside operations and commercial leaders.
• Contributing to bids, proposals and solution development.
• Leading, coaching and developing a team of engineers.
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
