Job summary

UCC Coffee in New Zealand seeks a Night Shift Engineer to keep plant operations running through the night. You’ll manage breakdowns across mechanical, electrical and robotic equipment, including software programming, as well as changeovers, maintenance and other engineering tasks as directed by the Engineering Manager.

This fixed-term role is based at The Roastery - The Roastery at Twenty Three, Allens Road, East Tamaki, and runs 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday night shift, through to

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment, ideally within automated packing operations.
• Solid understanding of maintenance, reliability and plant performance.
• Strong communication skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead prompt and safe responses to equipment service needs or breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining clear communication with our Production team.
• Support the delivery of the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme in line with supplier recommendations, ensuring all preventative work is completed to standard.
• Optimise equipment performance through standard operating procedures, ensuring product quality, system efficiency, and achievement of key performance indicators.
• Conduct and document risk assessments for processes and tasks, ensuring hazards are identified and controls implemented.
