Job summary

UCC Coffee is seeking an Inventory & Purchasing Manager to oversee end-to-end inventory and purchasing for coffee products, espresso machinery, and spare parts. Based at our Auckland roastery, you’ll coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure cost-effective supply and accurate stock levels.

You will lead planning, forecasting, and stocktakes, while driving data integrity in the ERP system and developing a small team to uphold high standards of accountability and engagement.

Qualifications

  • Experience in inventory management or planning.
  • Experience with stocktakes and cycle counts.
  • Strong Excel skills and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the flow of inventory across warehouses and 3PL distribution centres.
  • Own monthly inventory planning, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Drive accuracy through stocktake and cycle count processes; manage stock transfer, returns, and reconciliation across systems.
  • Improve data integrity and master data processes in our ERP system (JD Edwards).
  • Own transactional procurement—raising POs, managing supplier relationships, and challenging suppliers to lift performance.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across sales, warehouse, and service to streamline inventory and SKU accuracy.
  • Coach and develop a small direct team – driving standards, accountability, and engagement.

As our Inventory & Purchasing Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the right products are available at the right time, while maintaining efficient inventory levels across our network. You’ll lead the end-to-end management of inventory and purchasing for purchased coffee products, espresso machinery and spare parts, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth, reliable and cost-effective supply.

What you'll do

  • Drive accuracy through stocktake and cycle count processes, and manage stock transfer, returns, and reconciliation across systems.

  • Own transactional procurement - raising POs, managing vendor relationships, and challenging suppliers to lift performance.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across sales, warehouse, and service to streamline inventory and SKU accuracy.

About you:

You bring with you experience in inventory and/or supply planning, with a solid grasp of stock control, ERP systems, and end-to-end supply chain fundamentals. You’re confident managing supplier relationships, running cycle counts, and driving stock accuracy through process.

  • Previous experience in inventory management and/or planning, ideally within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
  • Experience conducting stocktakes and cycle counts.
  • Highly organised with strong time-management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet-based systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and perform under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with a proactive and creative approach to problem-solving.
