Job summary

GEA Germany GmbH is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Auckland engineering team. You will deliver electrical and controls solutions for process plants from design through to installation support and commissioning.

You will work with project managers, customers, contractors and internal disciplines to ensure safe, on time, and high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in industrial electrical engineering/project delivery; dairy/food/beverage sector experience preferred.
• Experience producing electrical drawings, cable schedules and datasheets with EPLAN/AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of LV power distribution, motors, VSDs, MCCs, and industrial comms.
• Proficiency with PLC/HMI systems, field instrumentation and design management.
• Familiar with AS/NZS 3000 and IEC standards and strong safety focus.
• Experience supporting procurement, supervising on-site installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs and documentation for process plant projects (SLDs, cable schedules, I/O lists, datasheets).
• Design and specify MCCs, field I/O panels, motors, VSDs, instrumentation interfaces and power distribution (LV).
• Translate customer requirements into technical specifications for suppliers and contractors.
• Support tendering and project execution by defining electrical scope, estimating costs and aiding procurement.
• Coordinate external design resources (EPLAN/AutoCAD, switchboard/panel builders) for quality and consistency.
• Ensure compliance with standards (AS/NZS 3000, IEC) and GEA HS&E requirements.
• Provide technical support during installation, site supervision, testing and commissioning.
• Participate in FAT/SAT and assist with handover documentation.
• Maintain project drawings, calculations, test records and change/variation docs.
