Job summary

Hamilton City Council's Libraries team is seeking a Whakaahu Service Development Librarian to design and deliver engaging programmes, events and outreach across seven library locations. The role offers variety, growth, autonomy and a supportive team culture at Central Library.

The successful candidate will collaborate with schools and community groups, foster inclusive experiences, facilitate workshops, and help grow participation while ensuring safe, high-quality customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Have experience developing and delivering programmes, events or services that meet the needs of diverse communities.
• Experience in a library or community-focused environment is a bonus.
• Ability to build relationships with schools, groups and stakeholders.
• Commitment to inclusive and welcoming experiences for all.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver engaging programmes, events and outreach that connect the community with the library.
• Build partnerships with schools, community groups and organisations to expand reach.
• Support staff to develop ideas and deliver high-quality experiences for customers.
• Grow participation and promote library services while ensuring safety and professionalism.
