Job summary

Based in Christchurch at our Scenic Hotel Group Support Office, as the Reservations Agent you'll be the first point of contact for our guests, shaping their experience before they arrive. Your focus is on handling all aspects of the reservations process with professionalism, efficiency, and care.

This full-time permanent role offers 30–32 hours per week with a rotating roster (Mon–Fri, occasional Saturdays). Pay rate is NZ$25–26 per hour, and RMS knowledge is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in hotel reservations (preferred).
• Knowledge of RMS or similar PMS systems (advantageous).
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Warm, professional personality.
• Strong time management and multi-tasking.
• Impeccable attention to detail and a methodical work style.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests with inquiries, reservation requests, and provide information about room availability, rates, and hotel amenities.
• Address and resolve guest concerns or issues related to reservations.
• Enter reservation details accurately into the hotel's booking system.
• Promote special packages, upgrades, and additional services to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
• Manage multiple reservations simultaneously, balancing phone calls and emails.
• Clearly communicate cancellation policies, check-in/check-out times, and other relevant information to guests.
• Provide support to the front desk team with reservation queries or guest details.
• Problem-solving capabilities to address guest needs and challenges.

• 1–2 years of experience in hotel reservations or a related hospitality position (preferred)
• Knowledge of RMS or similar hotel PMS systems (advantageous)

• Impeccable attention to detail and a methodical work style
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
